Periodontitis Treatment in Wiesbaden – Recognize and Treat the Danger
“If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to tooth loss and have effects on general health and well-being. Like an iceberg, the disease progresses below the visible surface. And because it is usually painless, it is often only recognized in an advanced stage,” says Prof. Dr. Thomas Kocher, a periodontologist from Greifswald, drawing attention to a fundamental problem.
Therefore, we must work together to:
- ideally, “prevent rather than treat” early on
- recognize warning signs of possible periodontitis
- if necessary: treat systematically and bring the disease process to a standstill
Aesthetic or functional changes can thus be largely limited and the condition of the periodontium significantly improved.
Assess your own risk with the periodontitis self-test
The DG PARO has developed a patient app that you can use to determine your personal periodontitis risk on your own initiative.
The principle is very simple: you answer seven questions in the periodontitis self-test and then receive a percentage risk assessment.
A current version of the Periodontitis Self-Test app is available for free download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. With the app, every patient can easily but reliably assess their risk factors and act accordingly.
We have also integrated the self-test HERE into our website. Please bring the result with you to your next appointment and we will discuss it together.
You can find more information about the self-test and periodontitis HERE (https://www.dgparo.de/parodontitis/selbsttest) – on the DG PARO website.
